Hospice evoca un luogo dove non esistono possibilità di scelta e i gesti, le azioni, gli stessi incontri sono gli ultimi possibili, assumendo una dimensione di assoluta compiutezza.
Due persone definiscono le loro singole identità e la loro relazione costruendo uno spazio denso di intimità, ricordi, sofferenza e piacere.
Hospice utilizza la fisicità di due giovani e straordinari interpreti, frammenti di testo tratti da spunti letterari e cinematografici e immagini visive originali.

 

Lo spettacolo è stato insignito del “Premio Equilibrio 2013 – Roma per la danza contemporanea” dalla giuria costituita da Guy Cools (BE),  Raimund Hoghe (DE); David Jays (GB); Frédéric Mazelly (FR): “(…) La giuria ha apprezzato in modo particolare l’originalità e la poeticità del linguaggio della messa in scena (…) Sia la qualità della performance, sia l’originalità del vocabolario del movimento e gli altri elementi scenici – musica, video, scenografia – risultano già ben amalgamati in un lavoro drammaturgicamente coerente”.

“La fase che precede la fine, la fase in cui il tempo assume nuove forme di dilatazione o contrazione, un attimo prima dell’ignoto assoluto. È questo il territorio impervio che sto cercando di esplorare con Hospice, assumendo il rischio di tradurre in spettacolo un tema così complesso.
Stiamo compiendo un percorso che vuole indagare sensazioni, paure, fatti contrastanti e assoluti, quasi irruenti di una quotidianità forzata, contro la quale non ci si può opporre.
Seppur nella diversità di ogni situazione di fine, necessariamente singolare, mi interessa indagare quel luogo che forse ci accomuna indistintamente, il vuoto incolmabile, quello che rimane poi a chi resta. Nell’impossibilità della scelta, il tempo che preme e la vita che continua”. Glen Çaçi

 

BIOGRAFIA DEGLI ARTISTI 
Glen Çaçi, autore e performer albanese attivo in Italia, Belgio e Francia dal 2005. Si forma con Maestri come Masaki Iwana, Jonathan Burrows, Geraldine Pilgrim, Raffaella Giordano e, tra il 2009 e il 2010, segue un percorso formativo biennale presso il centro Inteatro di Polverigi.
Da quell’esperienza intraprende la sua carriera come autore, creando il suo primo solo, dal titolo Cascare dal sonno, che debutta al Festival Internazionale Inteatro 2011 / Che storia è questa?.
Nel 2013 vince il Premio Equilibrio con Hospice, il suo secondo lavoro come autore. Vince diversi premi con progetti teatrali e partecipa a numerosi Festival contemporanea italiana. Collabora con Il Tony Clifton Circus, Compagnia Andrea Saggiomo, Compagnia Chiara Frigo, Gary Stevens, Ambra Senatore, Sergio Longobardi. È attualmente in scena con lo spettacolo Nella tempesta della compagnia Motus, che ha debuttato al Festival FTA a Montreal nel 2012.

Silvia Mai è una danzatrice nata a Verona nel 1984. Nel 2006 si diploma in Scenografia all’Accademia di Belle Arti di Venezia. Studia con Raffaella Giordano (“Scritture per la Danza Contemporanea” biennio 2009-2010) Ang Gey Pin, Maria Munoz, Cinzia Delorenzi, Silvia Rampelli, Dominique Dupuy. E’ co-fondatrice insieme ad altri dieci artisti del gruppo di ricerca sul movimento“FamigliaFuchè”. Nel 2012 crea Raku, spettacolo vincitore premio GD’A Veneto 2012. Dal 2010 collabora con Il Teatro della Valdoca danzando in Caino (2011), Cage’s Parade (2012) Ora non hai più Paura (2013). Attualmente è impegnata in Hospice di Glen Çaçi, (vincitore Premio Equilibrio 2013) e nel nuovo progetto di Giorgio Rossi/Sosta Palmizi.

Andrea Saggiomo, è nato a Firenze nel 1980. Attualmente risiede a Napoli dove nel 2007 fonda il proprio gruppo teatrale, con il quale vince il premio Nuove Sensibilità 2008 con lo spettacolo I canti di Maldoror e, nel 2009, il concorso “Cantieri Teatrali per Fabbrica Europa” con lo spettacolo I fiori d’Arancio; entrambi i lavori sono stati rappresentati in diverse città italiane in occasione di festival nazionali e internazionali. L’ultimo lavoro del gruppo Villon: il romanzo del peto del diavolo ha debuttato a Napoli a Novembre 2011. Nel 2013 fonda con Gaelle Cavalieri il duo di improvvisazione ASTEPBACK il cui primo lavoro, AMORFIA, è ancora in corso d’opera. Dal 2010 il suo progetto solista 70FPS (cinema espanso, pellicola super8 e ‘everyday cracked electronics and lights’) affianca la pratica teatrale e interagisce con essa, facendo da tramite di relazione con artisti e musicisti esterni al mondo teatrale (Aspec(t), Andy Guhl, Seppo Renvall sono alcune delle persone con cui collabora). Il primo DVD di 70FPS, “But you are” è uscito nel 2012 per l’etichetta indipendente VIANDE records.

Hospice evokes a terminal place where there are no choice. Gestures, actions, meetings are the last possible, assuming a dimension of absolute perfection.
Two people define their individual identities and their relationship, creating a perfect space full of intimacy, memories, pain and pleasure.
Hospice uses the physicality of two outstanding young performers, fragments of text drawn from literature and films, original visual images.

 

The show was awarded the “Prize Equilibrio 2013 – Rome for contemporary dance” by the jury consisting of Guy Cools (BE), Raimund Hoghe (DE ), David Jays (GB ) Frédéric Mazelly (FR). From the motivations: “(…) Both the quality of performance, both the originality of the vocabulary of movement and other scenic elements – music, video, scenography – are already well blended into a coherent dramaturgical work”.

Glen Çaçi Glen Caci is an albanian performer active professionally in Italy, Belgium and France since 2005. Before graduating in dance/performance in 2010, at the Inteatro Polverigi Foundation, he followed masters such as Masaki Iwana, Jonathan Burrows, Geraldine Pilgrim, Raffaella Giordano. Since then he started his solo career creating his personal works.
His first work was The Fall of Sleep (Cascare dal sonno) premiered at the Inteatro International Festival 2011.
In 2013 wins the Premio Equilibrio with Hospice, his second work as an author. Won different prizes with theater projects and taken part in many Italian Contemporary Festivals. Collaborated with The Tony Clifton Circus, Cie Andrea Saggiomo, Cie Chiara Frigo, Gary Stevens, Ambra Senatore, Sergio Longobardi. Actually he is performing in the last production of the the theater company Motus, which premiered at the FTA Festival in Montreal, Canada in 2012.

Silvia Mai was born in Verona in 1984. After graduating in scenography at the Academy of Arts in Venice, she moved to Milan to study theater with the master Kuniaki Ida.
In 2009 met Raffaella Giordano, and starts the two-year course of training “Scriptures for Contemporary Dance” at the end of which, together with 11 other artists of the same period, she founded the research group “FamigliaFuchè.” Other important figures in his work are Ang Gey Pin, Maria Munoz, Claude Coldy, Cynthia De Lorenzi, Silvia Rampelli, Dominique Dupuy.
From 2010 she began working with the Theater Valdoca, working as a dancer in the show Caino and now in some new projects. In 2011, with Sveva Scognamiglio and Clare Goldsmith, began studying for the creation of Elles sont partout and a personal approach to authorial working on her first solo dance Raku.

Andrea Saggiomo was born in Florence in 1980. Today he lives in Naples. In 2007 he founded his own theater group. In 2008 he won “Nuove Sensibilità” contest with the show “I canti di Maldoror”. In 2009 he won “Cantieri Teatrali per Fabbrica Europa” contest with the show “I fiori d’Arancio”. Both the shows have been performed in several italian cities on the occasion of international and national festivals. The last show of the group “Villon” premiered in Napoli in November 2011. In 2013 he founded with Gaelle Cavalieri a new impro-noise performance duo called ASTEPBACK starting from the project AMORFIA which is still a work in progress. Since 2010 the project 70FPS (improvised noise super8 film projection performances with everyday cracked electronics and lights) comes with the theatrical practice and interacts with it, being the between of relations with other artists and musicians beyond the theater world (Aspec(t), Andy Guhl, Seppo Renvall are some of the artists he collaborated with). The first DVD by 70FPS, titled BUT YOU ARE has been released on VIANDE records in 2012.

Prolungati al 25 FEBBRAIO i termini per iscriversi ad InteatroFestival Academy 2014, programma di perfezionamento artistico e ricerca nato per permettere occasioni di incontro e lavoro tra giovani performer (selezionati sulla base di un progetto creativo) e artisti affermati sulla scena internazionale, al fine di promuovere e sostenere la creazione di nuove opere.

A disposizione 3 borse di studio per i candidati più meritevoli a copertura del contributo di iscrizione (maggiori dettagli nel bando).

Per la sua 9° edizione IFA propone UN PERIODO DI LAVORO RESIDENZIALE che comprende:

– 3 workshop con gli artisti Cláudia Dias (PT), Iris Karayan (GR), Francesca Lattuada (IT/FR), per fornire ai partecipanti suggerimenti e spunti utili allo sviluppo del proprio progetto;
– 1 settimana di studio, per migliorare e perfezionare la prima idea di progetto, con il mentoring di Cláudia Dias;
– la presentazione ad una Giuria di professionisti presieduta dal direttore di Aerowaves John Ashford (GB), che selezionerà i progetti che saranno presentati ad InteatroFestival 2014 di Polverigi;
– 3 settimane di residenza, riservate ai performer coinvolti nei progetti selezionati, per la messa a punto e l’allestimento del lavoro.

I lavori selezionati potranno inoltre essere inseriti anche nella rassegna Danza al Museo, prevista nei maggiori spazi museali delle Marche in autunno 2014.

 

DESTINATARI: Saranno ammessi a partecipare al programma un massimo di 15 artisti / performer di età compresa tra i 18 e i 35 anni, di differenti nazionalità. E’ indispensabile la conoscenza della lingua inglese.

 

SELEZIONE SU PROGETTO: La selezione verrà effettuata sulla base del progetto di ricerca presentato, sia un “solo” sia una performance che preveda la partecipazione di altri artisti (in questo caso l’autore potrà chiedere agli altri partecipanti al programma IFA di prendere parte al proprio progetto). Il progetto presentato deve essere inedito.

 

CONDIZIONI: Il programma IFA offre alloggio, spazi di lavoro e di studio, workshop e accompagnamento alla creazione. Ai partecipanti si richiede un contributo forfettario a parziale copertura dei costi per la permanenza dal 31 marzo al 4 giugno; per gli artisti coinvolti nei progetti selezionati dalla Giuria, la residenza dal 9 giugno fino al festival sarà gratuita.

Inteatro mette a disposizione borse di studio per il rimborso di tale contributo per i 3 candidati ritenuti più meritevoli, scelti sulla base del curriculum e del progetto presentato (originalità della proposta, accuratezza e completezza della presentazione, ecc.).

IFA – InteatroFestival Academy is the residential program of research and professional training, promoted and founded in 2006 by Inteatro, that gives the opportunity to young performers to work with established artists of the international theatre and dance scene for the development of their practice.

Inteatro provides 3 scholarships per the most deserving candidates to cover the contribution fee for the participation (more info on the call). 

In its 9th edition IFA proposes A PERIOD OF RESIDENTIAL WORK with:
– 3 workshops with the artists  Cláudia Dias (PT), Iris Karayan (GR), Francesca Lattuada (IT/FR), to let the participants gain suggestions and sparks useful for the development of the projects;
– 1 week of study to improve the projects, with the artistic mentoring of Cláudia Dias;
– the presentation to a Jury of Professionals headed by the Director of Aerowaves John Ashford (GB),  that will select the most interesting projects to be presented in the frame of InteatroFestival 2014;
– an additional period of research of 3 weeks, reserved for participants involved in selected projects, to create and set up the works.

Moreover, the selected projects could be also presented in the winter festival Danza al Museo (October > December 2014, in the Marche region museums).

RECIPIENTS > The program has a maximum of 15 vacencies for young artists/performers  aged between 18 and 35 years, of different nationalities.
The selection is primarily addressed to dancers, choreographers, performers with experience in dance / physical theatre / circus.

SELECTION BY DOSSIER > The applicants will be selected on the basis of the proposed research project. This can be a “solo” or a show/performance that foresees the participation of other performers (the author may ask the other IFA participants to take part in the project).
The proposed project must be original.

PARTICIPATION TERMS > The IFA program provides lodging, workspace, workshop, assistance and support to the creation. To participate in the program we require to each young artist a contribution to cover part of the costs of their stay from March 31st to June 4th; for the artists involved in the projects selected by the jury, the residency from 9 June until the festival is free of charge.
For the 3 most deserving candidates, Inteatro provides a scholarship to cover the contribution fee; the recipients of the scholarships will be selected on the basis of the curriculum and of the submitted project (originality of the proposal, accuracy of the presentation, ecc.).

IFA 2014

Cláudia Dias (PT), Iris Karayan (GR), Francesca Lattuada (IT/FR) sono gli artisti invitati a condurre gli workshop di IFA 2014, per fornire ai partecipanti suggerimenti e spunti utili allo sviluppo dei propri progetti.

CLAUDIA DIAS (Lisbona) 1 > 12 aprile
Ha iniziato lo studio della danza classica con Maria Franco presso la Academia Almadense. Ha proseguito gli studi come allieva della Companhia de Dança de Lisboa. Collabora dal 2001 con RE.AL. Il suo spettacolo Visita Guiada è stato presentato al Festival Inteatro nel 2006. Il suo lavoro, incentrato sulla capacità di racconto del corpo, si sviluppa secondo una matrice di tipo concettuale e si caratterizza per una grande esattezza compositiva e spaziale. Le sono particolarmente care le tematiche legate al rapporto tra l’uomo e l’ambiente naturale ed urbano. Dirige, insieme a João Fiadeiro, Tiago Guedes e Márcia Lança i corsi di Tecnica di Composizione in Tempo Reale all’atelier RE.AL.

IRIS KARAYAN (Atene) 14 > 20 aprile
Iris Karayan si è formata presso la Greek State School of Dance e ha completato il suo percorso artistico nel Regno Unito con un Master in Performance e Cultura del Goldsmiths College. Nel 2002 ha fondato la ZITA Dance Company, di cui è coreografa. Le sue opere The Forest (2003), Self portrait (2005-09), Domestic animals (2008), A time to mourn (2009), LEG ACY (2010), CRACK (2010), Mothers (2012) sono state presentate ad Atene, Salonicco, Bucarest, Londra, Pau (Francia), Bologna, Zurigo e in città della Polonia e della Serbia. Attualmente insegna coreografia presso la Greek State School of Dance. Recentemente è stata premiata con il 1° premio del Jarmila Jebrakova Award al New Europe Festival 2010, per i suoi lavori A time to mourn e LEG ACY.

FRANCESCA LATTUADA (Milano) 29 aprile > 10 maggio
Dopo il diploma in Belle Arti, frequenta seminari teatrali con Luca Ronconi, Tadeus Kantor e Jerzy Grotowski. Nel 1985 si trasferisce in Francia (che diviene la sua patria d’adozione), dove si dedica soprattutto alla danza contemporanea, perfezionandosi con Hans Züllig e Jacques Patarozzi e avvicinandosi alle forme spettacolari orientali come il Teatro Nô, il Kabuki, la danza e il canto indiani. Dopo le collaborazioni con Catherine Diverrès e François Verret, nel 1990 fonda la compagnia Festina Lente, con cui firma Simplicissimus (1990), Hilarotragoedia (1991), Les dieux sont fâchés (1993-94), Zirkus (1996), Le Testament d’Ismaïl Zotos (1997), lavori in cui le varie influenze teatrali si fondono in un linguaggio essenziale, raffinato e fortemente estetizzante. La consacrazione arriva soprattutto con La tribù IOta, spettacolo creato nel 2000 per i sedici giovani allievi uscenti dal Centro Nazionale delle Arti del Circo di Chalôns-en-Champagne, che guadagna una lunga tournée oltre al plauso internazionale. Tra gli ultimi lavori si ricordano Ostinato, assolo tagliato su misura per la danzatrice Rita Quaglia, e Allegro macabro, parte di un dittico co-firmato con il coreografo giapponese Saburo Teshigawara.

CLAUDIA DIAS (Lisbon)

Cláudia Dias started her classical dance training at the Academia Almadense. Then, she obtained a scholarship to enrol in the Companhia De Dança de Lisboa. She started her collaboration with RE.AL in 2001. Her second solo, Visita Guiada, has been presented in InteatroFestival 2006. Her work is focused on the storytelling ability of the body and it is characterized by great accuracy and spatial composition. She particularly works on the issues related to the relationship between humans and the natural and urban environment. At the atelier RE.AL., she leads courses of Real Time Composition method with with João Fiadeiro, Tiago Guedes and Márcia Lança.

IRIS KARAYAN (Athens)

Iris Karayan studied dance at the Greek State School of Dance and completed an MA in Performance and Culture (Goldsmiths College) in the UK.  She is the founding member and choreographer of ZITA Dance Company (2002).  Her works The Forest (2003), Self portrait (2005-09), Domestic animals (2008), A time to mourn (2009), LEG ACY (2010), CRACK (2010), Mothers (2012) have been shown in Athens, Thessaloniki, Bucharest, London, Poland, Serbia, France (Pau), Italy (Bologna), Switzerland (Zurich).  She currently teaches choreography at the Greek State School of Dance. FRANCESCA LATTUADA (Milan)

After graduating in Fine Arts, she attended theater workshops with Luca Ronconi, Tadeusz Kantor and Jerzy Grotowski. In 1985 she moved to France (which became her adopted home), where she dedicated her’s time mainly to contemporary dance, studying with Hans Züllig and Jacques Patarozzi and approaching the eastern spectacular forms such as Teatro Nô, Kabuki, dance and Indian singing. After collaborations with Catherine Diverrès and François Verret, in 1990 she founded the company Festina Lente and created Simplicissimus (1990), Hilarotragoedia (1991 ), Les dieux sont fâchés (1993-94), Zirkus (1996), Le Testament d’Ismaïl Zotos (1997), works in which the various influences come together in a theatrical essential and aesthetical refined language. The consecration comes especially with La tribù IOta, show created in 2000 for sixteen young students graduated from the National Centre of Circus Arts of Chalôns-en-Champagne. Among recent works we can remember Ostinato, solo with the dancer Rita Quaglia, and Allegro macabro, parte di un dittico co-firmato con il coreografo giapponese Saburo Teshigawara., part of a diptych co-signed with the Japanese choreographer Saburo Teshigawara.
