LUCA SILVESTRINI FOODproduction Marche Teatro

Ironic and exhilarating, “FOOD” invites the audience for the convivial moment of everyday life, the meal, unusually told through dance, music, theatre and…tomatoes.

The audience is welcomed by the company and invited to seat, choosing one of the thematic tables (meat, fish, vegetables, junk food, pasta, tradition); the performers/waiters offer drinks and ask the spectators about their relationship with food.

The show uses movement and music to witty and playfully address the awareness of eating, our relationship with food, its meaning in our daily life as a moment of encounter and sharing with others; it creates a profound sense of community and inclusion in the audience, that is actively involved in the performance baking a cake, taking part in a raffle, tasting food in a unusual way.

The show, that can be staged out of regular venues, is accessible and enjoyable for the audience of any age: the Italian production in 2018 has toured in the region hit by the earthquake, while the original English version was staged in community center, retirement houses, not theatrical venues.

“The original idea was a sensorial and partecipative performance about food and our always getting more complex relationship with it. At some point, we have realized that this playful night, sitting on a table and tasting together, could become a way to tell stories, experiences and inclinations capable of evoking memories and emotions, creating a convivial and intimate dimension.” Luca Silvestrini
