ANNA BASTI E CHIARA CAIMMI – UNLOCK (work in progress)

Dispositivo di controllo: “qualunque cosa abbia in qualche modo la capacità di catturare, orientare, determinare, intercettare, modellare, controllare e assicurare i gesti, le condotte, le opinioni e i discorsi degli esseri viventi” (G. Agamben)

Due corpi femminili in assenza di equilibrio: la postura è instabile, la voce non trova il suo tono naturale, il respiro è limitato, costretto dai lacci di un corsetto. Due donne in bilico tra il tentativo di raggiungere un modello estetico, e il riconoscere che questo stesso modello è un’imposizione culturale e sociale.
Attraverso un percorso di riappropriazione e di scoperta del ventre e della voce,  tutto il corpo si contagia,  il suono si amplifica e accompagna questo processo di riconquista. Un tentativo di esplosione energica e liberatoria, che cerca di eludere lo stereotipo.
E’ possibile resistere agli attacchi dei dispositivi? Possono degli spazi conquistati di libertà sfuggire al controllo?

Anna Basti e Chiara Caimmi incrociano i loro percorsi artistici nel 2012, collaborando come performers con la compagnia teatrale Muta Imago.
Dal 2016 cominciano a lavorare insieme, accomunate dal desiderio di indagare la realtà attraverso il corpo.
Questa indagine prende la prima forma nel progetto di ricerca Relax_nothing is under control, uno studio sugli effetti dei dispositivi di controllo sui corpi (in residenza a Macao_Milano, ex Asilo Filangieri_Napoli e presentato nella rassegna Cikorea presso Carrozzerie Not_Roma).
Nel 2018 gli stessi temi convogliano nel successivo progetto: Unlock, ad oggi in fase di costruzione (con il sostegno di Inteatro Festival, Centrale Fies e KOMM TANZ/Teatro Cartiera residenze Compagnia Abbondanza/Bertoni in collaborazione con il Comune di Rovereto).
Parallelamente Anna a Chiara avviano una condivisione ed apertura delle tematiche e delle pratiche coinvolte nelle loro ricerche, attraverso il percorso laboratoriale Unlocking.

Control device: “anything that has in any way the ability to capture, orient, determine, intercept, model, control and ensure the gestures, conduct, opinions and discourses of living beings” (G. Agamben)

Two female bodies in absence of equilibrium: the posture is unstable, the voice does not find its natural tone, the breath is limited, constricted by the laces of a corset. Two women hanging in the balance between an aesthetic model to reach and the awareness that this same model is a cultural and social imposition.
Through a process of repossession and discovery of the wumb and the voice, the whole body is engaged, the sound is amplified and supports this process of reconquest. An attempt of energetic and liberating explosion, which tries to evade the stereotype.
Is it possible to resist the attacks of the devices? Can these conquered spaces of freedom escape the control?

Anna Basti and Chiara Caimmi cross their artistic paths in 2012, collaborating as performers with Muta Imago company.
From 2016 they begin to work together, with the shared desire to investigate reality through the body.
This research takes shape initially in the project Relax_nothing is under control, that focuses on the effects of the control devices on our bodies (artistic residences at Macao_Milano, Ex Asilo Filangieri_Napoli and presented in Cikorea festival at Carrozzerie Not_Roma).
In 2018 the same themes converged in the ongoing project Unlock, currently under developement (with the support of Inteatro Festival, Centrale Fies and e KOMM TANZ/Teatro Cartiera residenze Compagnia Abbondanza/Bertoni in collaborazione con il Comune di Rovereto).
At the same time they open the research process through Unlocking, a workshop where they share the practices and the topics involved in their works.
