IFA 2013: selezionati progetti per il Festival

Si è svolta il 20 e 21 maggio la presentazione dei lavori degli 8 partecipanti ad IFA 2013 dopo il mentoring e i suggerimenti avuti durante i tre workshop con la coreografa portoghese Claudia Dias, la regista inglese Geraldine Pilgrim e la coreografa basca Idoia Zabaleta.

Tra i 7 progetti presentati, sono stati selezionati per partecipare ad Inteatro Villa Nappi Festival 2013 This Place di Giulia Ferrato e ‘Ashar. Uowo Clomn o Clomn Uowo? di Matteo Tontini.

Inteatro offre ai due giovani talenti un periodo di residenza durante il quale gli artisti possono contare sulla consulenza e sul confronto con John Ashford, direttore di Aerowaves, per lo sviluppo drammaturgico e la messa a punto del lavoro.

It took place on 20 and 21 May the presentation of the work of the 8 participants at IFA 2013 after the mentoring and suggestions had during the three workshops with Portuguese choreographer Claudia Dias, the English director Geraldine Pilgrim and Basque choreographer Idoia Zabaleta.

Among the 7 projects presented, This Place by Giulia Ferrato and Uowo Clomn? Clomn Uowo by Matteo Tontini were selected to participate in Inteatro Villa Nappi Festival 2013.

Inteatro offers to the two young talents a period of residence during which artists can rely on the advice of John Ashford, director of Aerowaves, for the dramaturgical development of their work.

IFA 2013: IDOIA ZABALETA

La coreografa e biologa basca Idoia Zabaleta è il terzo artista/mentor di IFA InteatroFestival Academy 2013.
Dal 29 Aprile al 10 Maggio lavorerà per la prima volta a Villa Nappi con i giovani artisti partecipanti ad IFA.

Coreografa e biologa, specializzata in “Ecosistemi e dinamiche delle popolazioni”. Nel suo lavoro artistico, si ritrovano numerosi riferimenti e idee ispirate all’ecologia del processo creativo. Ha studiato danza contemporanea e improvvisazione a Barcellona, Firenze, Amsterdam e New York; tra il 1995 e il 1999 ha lavorato con la compagnia Mal Pelo. Dal 2000 Idoia Zabaleta è autrice e produttrice di propri lavori, collaborando con artisti di differenti discipline, ma anche con teorici e scrittori. Dal 2008 dirige, con Juan Gonzalez, lo spazio di creazione e residenza artistica AZALA, in Lasierra (Araba).

Basque choreographer and biologist Idoia Zabaleta is the third artist/mentor of InteatroFestival Academy of IFA 2013.

She will work for the first time at Villa Nappi from 29th April to 10th May with the young IFA artists.

Choreographer and biologist. In the Faculty of Biology she specialized in ecosystems and population dynamics. In her work, we can find several references and ideas inspirated by the ecology of the creative process. She studied New Dance and Improvisation in Barcelona, Florence, Amsterdam and New York; she worked with Mal Pelo company between 1995 and 1999. Since 2000 Idoia Zabaleta co-produces and makes her own work, collaborating with artists from various disciplines, as well as theorists and writers. Since 2008, she directs, with Juan Gonzalez, AZALA, space for creation in Lasierra (Araba).

IFA 2013: GERALDINE PILGRIM

La regista e designer inglese Geraldine Pilgrim è il secondo artista/mentor di IFA InteatroFestival Academy 2013.
Dal 9 al 20 Aprile lavorerà a Villa Nappi con i giovani artisti partecipanti ad IFA, introducendoli al suo linguaggio e al suo metodo di lavoro e guidandoli nello sviluppo  delle proprie “traiettorie artistiche”.

Storico direttore artistico della compagnia di teatro visuale “Hesitate and Demonstrate”, Geraldine Pilgrim crea eventi e performance teatrali site specific in edifici e luoghi inusuali, lasciandosi guidare dall’architettura e dalla storia dello spazio.
Come docente collabora con il Wimbledon College of Art, il Central St. Martins, il Goldsmiths College e il LAMDA, oltre a tenere corsi e laboratori per artisti professionisti ed emergenti in tutta Europa.

The English director and designer Geraldine Pilgrim is the second mentor of IFA InteatroFestival Academy 2013.
From 9th to 20th of April she is working in Villa Nappi with the young IFA artists, introducing them to her language and her working method, to help them in developing their own “artistic trajectories”.

Historical artistic director of the theater company “Hesitate and Demonstrate”, Geraldine Pilgrim creates site-specific events and performances in unusual buildings and places.
She is an associate lecturer at Wimbledon College of Art and visiting lecturer at Central St. Martins, Goldsmiths College and LAMDA; moreover she runs courses and workshops for emerging and established arts practitioners throughout Europe.

IFA 2013: si parte con CLAUDIA DIAS

L’ottava edizione di IFA è cominciata martedì 26 marzo con il workshop di Cláudia Dias. I partecipanti, provenienti da Italia, Canada, Cipro e Colombia avranno l’opportunità di lavorare con l’artista portoghese fino al 6 aprile.

Cláudia Dias incentra il suo lavoro sulla capacità di racconto del corpo, sviluppato secondo una matrice di tipo concettuale e caratterizzato da una grande esattezza compositiva e spaziale. Le sono particolarmente care le tematiche legate al rapporto tra l’uomo e l’ambiente naturale ed urbano.

The eighth edition of IFA has started on Tuesday 26th March with Cláudia Dias workshop. The IFA participants, coming from Italy, Canada, Cyprus and Colombia will have the opportunity to work with the Portuguese artist until April 6.

Cláudia Dias’s work focuses on the ability to tell the body and it is characterized by great accuracy and spatial composition. She particularly works on the issues related to the relationship between humans and the natural and urban environment.

IFA 2013: SCOPRI I MENTORS

Cláudia Dias (PT), Geraldine Pilgrim (GB), Idoia Zabaleta (ES) sono gli artisti invitati a condurre gli workshop di IFA 2013, per fornire ai partecipanti suggerimenti e spunti utili allo sviluppo dei propri progetti.

26 marzo > 7 aprile
CLAUDIA DIAS (Lisbona) Ha iniziato lo studio della danza classica con Maria Franco presso la Academia Almadense. Ha proseguito gli studi come allieva della Companhia de Dança de Lisboa. Collabora dal 2001 con RE.AL. Il suo spettacolo Visita Guiada è stato presentato al Festival Inteatro nel 2006. Il suo lavoro, incentrato sulla capacità di racconto del corpo, si sviluppa secondo una matrice di tipo concettuale e si caratterizza per una grande esattezza compositiva e spaziale. Le sono particolarmente care le tematiche legate al rapporto tra l’uomo e l’ambiente naturale ed urbano. Dirige, insieme a João Fiadeiro, Tiago Guedes e Márcia Lança i corsi di Tecnica di Composizione in Tempo Reale all’atelier RE.AL.

9 > 20 aprile
GERALDINE PILGRIM (Londra) Storico direttore artistico della compagnia di teatro visuale “Hesitate and Demonstrate”, Geraldine Pilgrim è attualmente a capo di “Corridor”, compagnia fondata nel 2000 per creare eventi site specific, spesso collaborando con giovani, anziani, gruppi e comunità artistiche del territorio. Il particolare lavoro on site di Geraldine Pilgrim si specializza in progetti e produzioni teatrali site specific di grandi dimensioni e installazioni performative in edifici inusuali, nei quali l’architettura del luogo viene utilizzata come racconto, rivelando, gradualmente, memorie, atmosfere e sottili essenze acquisite nel corso degli anni, integrandole con il presente e immaginandone il futuro.

29 aprile > 10 maggio

Dal 2000 Idoia Zabaleta è autrice e produttrice di propri lavori, collaborando con artisti di differenti discipline, ma anche con teorici e scrittori: tra questi Jaime Salazar, Ixiar Rozas, Isabel de Naverán, Filipa Francisco, Antonio Tagliarini, ecc. Le sue creazioni sono state presentate in numerosi festival internazionali. 26th March > 7th April

CLAUDIA DIAS (Lisbon)Cláudia Dias started her classical dance training at the Academia Almadense. Then, she obtained a scholarship to enrol in the Companhia De Dança de Lisboa. She started her collaboration with RE.AL in 2001. Her second solo, Visita Guiada, has been presented in InteatroFestival 2006. Her work is focused on the storytelling ability of the body and it is characterized by great accuracy and spatial composition. She particularly works on the issues related to the relationship between humans and the natural and urban environment. At the atelier RE.AL., she leads courses of Real Time Composition method with with João Fiadeiro, Tiago Guedes and Márcia Lança.

9th > 20th April

GERALDINE PILGRIM (London)Director/Designer and Installation artist. Geraldine Pilgrim has been the Artistic Director of “Hesitate and Demonstrate” visual theatre company; now she is the Artistic Director of “Corridor”, a performance company she set up in 2000 to continue to create site-specific events, often working in collaboration with young people, older people and arts and community groups. Her particular site work specialises in installations and performances in unusual buildings and landscapes where the architecture of the site is used as inspiration and narrative, gradually revealing memories and atmospheres that have built up over the years, together with the history – imagined and real – of the space.

29th April > 10th May

IFA: ONLINE IL BANDO 2013

IFA – InteatroFestival Academy è il programma di perfezionamento artistico e ricerca a carattere residenziale promosso e fondato nel 2006 da Inteatro, Ente di Promozione della Danza, per permettere occasioni di incontro e lavoro tra giovani performer (selezionati sulla base di un progetto creativo) e artisti affermati sulla scena internazionale, al fine di promuovere e sostenere la creazione di nuove opere.

Per la sua VIII edizione, IFA propone UN PERIODO DI LAVORO RESIDENZIALE che comprende:
– 3 laboratori con gli artisti Cláudia Dias (PT), Geraldine Pilgrim (GB), Idoia Zabaleta (ES), per fornire ai partecipanti suggerimenti e spunti utili allo sviluppo del proprio progetto;
– 1 settimana di studio, per migliorare e perfezionare la prima idea di progetto;
– la presentazione ad una Giuria di professionisti, che selezionerà i progetti più interessanti e più convincenti per la presentazione al Festival di Inteatro;
– un ulteriore periodo di ricerca della durata di 1 mese, riservato ai performer coinvolti nei progetti selezionati, per la messa a punto e l’allestimento del lavoro.

Ha confermato la propria presenza nel comitato di selezione e per il tutoring artistico dei progetti John Ashford (GB), direttore di Aerowaves [network europeo per il sostegno e la distribuzione di artisti e compagnie emergenti con partner in oltre 30 paesi].
Inoltre, i lavori selezionati potranno essere inseriti anche nella rassegna Danza al Museo, prevista nei maggiori spazi museali delle Marche in autunno 2013.

DESTINATARI: Saranno ammessi a partecipare al programma un massimo di 15 artisti / performer di età compresa tra i 18 e i 35 anni, di differenti nazionalità. E’ indispensabile la conoscenza della lingua inglese.
La selezione è prioritariamente rivolta a danzatori/autori, coreografi, performer con esperienze di danza / teatro fisico / circo.

SELEZIONE SU PROGETTO: La selezione verrà effettuata sulla base del progetto di ricerca presentato.
Può trattarsi di un “solo” o una performance che preveda la partecipazione di altri artisti (in questo caso l’autore potrà chiedere agli altri partecipanti al programma IFA di prendere parte al proprio progetto)
Il progetto presentato deve essere inedito.

CONDIZIONI: Il programma IFA offre alloggio, spazi di lavoro e accompagnamento. L’organizzazione mette a disposizione spazi comuni ed attrezzature cucina e area wifi gratuita all’interno di Villa Nappi.
Ai partecipanti si richiede un contributo forfettario a copertura dei costi di frequenza, assicurazione, alloggio, spazi di lavoro e di studio.

giovedì 28 febbraio 2013 presso gli uffici di Inteatro (Villa Nappi Via Marconi 77 60020 Polverigi An – I, ifa@inteatro.it ). NON fa fede il timbro postale.
Le candidature dovranno includere: lettera motivazionale, curriculum vitae completo di contatti; progetto di ricerca (lunghezza massima: 2 fogli A4); materiali video, testi e foto di lavori precedenti.

IFA – InteatroFestival Academy is the residential program of research and professional training, promoted and founded in 2006 by Inteatro, that gives the opportunity to young performers to work with established artists of the international theatre and dance scene for the development of their practice.

In its 8th edition IFA proposes

A PERIOD OF RESIDENTIAL WORK including:

– 3 workshops with the artists  Cláudia Dias (PT), Geraldine Pilgrim (GB), Idoia Zabaleta (ES), to let the participants gain suggestions and sparks useful for the development of the projects;

– 1 week of study, to improve the projects;

– the presentation to a Jury of Professionals that will select the most interesting projects to be presented in the frame of InteatroFestival 2013;

– an additional period of research of 1 month, reserved for participants involved in selected projects, to create and set up the works.

John Ashford (GB), Director of Aerowaves [European network for research and presentation of emerging dance companies with partnerships in over 30 countries], confirmed his presence in the selection Jury and for the artistic tutoring.

Moreover, the selected projects could be also presented in the winter festival Danza al Museo (October > December 2013, in the Marche region museums).

RECIPIENTS > The program has 15 vacencies for young artists/performers  aged between 18 and 35 years, of different nationalities.

The selection is primarily addressed to dancers, choreographers, performers with experience in dance / physical theatre / circus.

SELECTION BY DOSSIER > The applicants will be selected on the basis of the proposed research project.

This can be a “solo” or a show/performance that foresees the participation of other performers (the author may ask the other IFA participants to take part in the project).

The proposed project must be original.

PARTICIPATION TERMS > The IFA program provides lodging, workspace, assistance and support. In the guest house of Villa Nappi there is kitchen facilities, common space and free wifi area. To participate in the program we require a fee to cover the costs of the attendance, lodging, work and study spaces. Participants are responsible for their travel, living costs and personal insurance.
