Ogni sera un attore diverso interpreta il nuovo e audace lavoro dell’artista Nassim Soleimanpour, esplorando il concetto di libertà, esilio e le limitazioni del linguaggio.
Quando andiamo in un altro paese, che cosa percepiamo di diverso e cosa ci rende stranieri? Il cibo? Gli odori? Per la maggior parte di noi, credo si tratti della lingua. Essere incapaci di comunicare ci rende letteralmente ammutoliti.
NASSIM segue il successo del precedente lavoro di Soleimanpour, l’acclamato White Rabbit Red Rabbit, che è stato tradotto in oltre 25 lingue e rappresentato più di 1000 volte da attori del calibro di Sinead Cusack, Ken Loach e Whoopi Goldberg. NASSIM è stato prodotto dal Bush Theatre ed ha debuttato all’Edinburgh Fringe Festival al Traverse Theatre il 3 agosto 2017, la produzione italiana è stata curata da Marche Teatro e sarà presentato ad Inteatro Festival in esclusiva nazionale.

Nassim Soleimanpour (autore e performer) è uno scrittore iraniano di teatro multidisciplinare indipendente, famoso in tutto il mondo per la sua pluri-premiata opera White Rabbit Red Rabbit.
Il suo secondo lavoro BLANK ha ottenuto riconoscimenti nel Regno Unito, al Bush Theatre RADAR Festival nel 2015, è stato presentato ad Amsterdam e Utrecht, al Fringe Festival di Edimburgo, in Argentina, Australia e India.
I successivi lavori, incluso Blind Hamlet che è stato premiato al LIFT Festival nel 2014, sono stati presentati in tutto il Regno Unito, a Bucarest e Copenhagen. Nassim attualmente vive a Berlino e sta lavorando ad un nuovo progetto commissionato dal Teater Momentum (Danimarca) e per la piattaforma di audiolibri Audible.

Nassim Soleimanpour is from Tehran, Iran. His plays have been translated into more than 20 languages. He’s best known for his play White Rabbit Red Rabbit, written to travel the world when he couldn’t, that has been translated into 28 languages and performed in 35 countries. His work has been awarded the Dublin Fringe Festival Best New Performance, Summerworks Outstanding New Performance Text Award and The Arches Brick Award (Edinburgh Fringe) as well as picking up nominations for a Total Theatre and Brighton Fringe Pick of Edinburgh Award.

In his new work, Nassim continues to challenge the conventions surrounding the roles of writer, performer and audience within his work.Nassim is a play in two languages. Persian, Nassim’s mother tongue, and one other dependent on where the show is performed – perhaps one that Nassim has learnt to master, like English, or one he’s never spoken, like Mandarin.
Every night a different actor is invited to perform a cold-read of Nassim. Using language and performance to reflect collectively on the power of words and how they shape who we are, Nassim explores questions of identity, perspective and social relationships over the course of a clever, playful and touching 80 minutes of theatre that goes right to the source of our need for telling stories: to learn from each other and shape our view of the world.
